The Kingsport Times-News traces its history back to the Kingsport Times which has been serving the people of this area since 1916, one year before Kingsport was incorporated as a city. Kingsport Publishing Corporation, the local division of Sandusky Newspapers was formed in 1962.
Kingsport Publishing now publishes the daily newspaper and six associated websites.
The Times-News provides local news coverage for western Sullivan, and eastern Hawkins counties in Tn. and Scott, Lee and Wise Counties in Virginia.
